Isa AS had knowledge of the unseen?

                           Christian claim:

Isa AS had knowledge of the unseen?

Christians have been presenting strange of arguments about Isa AS from the Quran. Now, before we get to their preposterous polemic, I have always wondered with fascination how Christians elevate the status of Isa AS from the Qur'an, considering the Qur'an explicitly states that Isa AS was neither killed nor crucified, yet they still venerate him.

Notice that Christians defend the nature of Isa AS from the Qur'an by saying, 'Is he not the Word of Allah?' 'Is he not the spirit of Allah?' They force the idea of making Isa AS unique compared to any other figure in the Qur'an. They literally elevate his status. Why am I bringing this up? In Shaa Allah, you'll find out  keep reading and prepare to be amused.

Recently, a Pakistani Christian joined Brother Adnan’s TikTok live panel to ask a question. This conniving individual stated that Isa AS in the Qur'an had knowledge of the unseen, unlike Prophet Muhammad Pbuh. The evidence he provided was from Surah 3. Let us read the verse in question and find out whether this individual spoke the truth or not."

And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah. And I cure the blind [from birth] and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers. [Surah 3:49]

Now one may wonder where is this claim that Isa AS knew the knowledge of the unseen? And that is exactly what we asked, where does the verse show or state he has knowledge of the unseen and behold the Christian pointed to

“And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses.”

His claim is that the saying by Isa AS suggests he knew the unseen by telling the Children of Israel what they should eat and store in their houses. How did he come to this understanding? Well, the statements prior to this mentions Isa AS breathing into a bird made of clay to a real bird, healing the sick, and giving life to the dead all done by the permission of Allah Swt. However, when he said what they should eat and store, no permission from Allah Swt is mentioned, thus concluding that he had the knowledge of the unseen.

This is absurd! Utmost ridiculous, Christians never fail to amuse us.

Firstly, the statement within the verse does not show any sense of knowledge of the unseen.

Secondly, let the Qur’an answer.

And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?' " He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. [Surah 5:110]

The above verse speaks of the time when Isa AS will be questioned by Allah Swt whether he told his people [nation he was sent] to worship him and his mother beside Allah Swt. Take attention to the answer given by Isa AS.

“You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.”

According to Isa AS who is the knower of the unseen? It is Allah Swt. This argument has ended. Now coming to the knowledge of the unseen did Prophet Muhammed Pbuh given such knowledge by Allah Swt? Let the Qur’an answer.

[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone . Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before him [i.e., each messenger] and behind him observers [Surah 72:26-27

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammed]. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this. So be patient; indeed, the [best] outcome is for the righteous. [Surah 11:49]

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal, [O Muhammed], to you. And you were not with them when they put together their plan while they conspired [Surah 12:102]

Allah Swt discloses the knowledge of the unseen to whom he has approved of Messengers. Surah 11 and 12 tells us the knowledge of the unseen was revealed to Prophet Muhammed Pbuh.

Using the Qur’an to prove Isa AS had knowledge of the unseen without having it revealed by Allah Swt is a low level polemic from Christians is self-defeating.

Allahu knows best.
