Did Moses really write Deuteronomy?

These are the words which Moses spake unto all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah over against Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Di-zahab. (Deuteronomy 1:1)

----------

We know from the bible Moses  was told he would never cross to Jordan,   (Numbers 20:12) so this someone who is already situated in promised land, in the land of Canaan writing about "THESE ARE THE WORDS THAT MOSES SPOKE BACK WHEN HE WAS IN THE OTHER SIDE OF JORDEN"? Proves Moses could have written this. How could this be the writing of Moses if a passage contradicts his own location of stay?
