Jesus of the Bible Does Not Love You

Jesus Does Not Love You

IN VIOLATION OF EVERY CIVILIZATIONS’ MORAL CODE…

Jesus, Does Not Love You…

If You Are A Slave And Disobey Your Master

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripesLuke 12:47
UNBELIEVABLE!  Jesus commands
The kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. Matthew 18:23-25
Jesus condones slavery and says that God is like a slave owner who beats his slaves and sells families to pay for debts. While the word “servant” is used here instead of slave, it is clear that the “servant” is a slave because he and his wife and children can be sold. Where is the love?

BTW:
Paul, Peter, Timothy and Titus Also Condone Slavery

Servants [slaves], obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God. Colossians 3:22
Exhort servants [slaves] to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. Titus 2:9-10
Servants [slaves], be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. 1 Peter 2:18
Let as many servants [slaves] as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. 1 Timothy 6:1
They [slaves] that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. 1 Timothy 6:2
The above is clear evidence that Jesus/God and his disciples saw nothing wrong with slavery. That alone is reason enough to discredit everything in the Christian doctrine.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Don’t Believe

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16
“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. – John 15.6
Eternal damnation and torture simply because you don’t believe?
Where’s the love in that?

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Were Not Given To Know The Mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven

All verses from Matthew
13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias (Isaiah) , which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
13:15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Here’s Our Take On This

re 13:11 – some are predestined to be “GIVEN” knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but it had not been given to those to whom Jesus spoke in parables.
re 13:12 – IF you have been predestined, you have it made, if not; not only will you have little, but what little you have will be taken away.
re 13:13 – IF they have not been predestined, there’s no point in speaking straight cookies to them, so Jesus will just tell them a cute “coded” story.
re 13:14 – We know this is right because the prophet Isaiah told us how this nonsense would play out.
re 13:15 – So, those who have not been predestined have been given dull ears and closed eyes lest Jesus should have to heal them.
Matthew manages to justify almost every one of his assertions with reference to prophecy – here Isaiah. He makes it up out of whole cloth.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Seek A Sign Because You Fear Eternal Torture

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? … Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign. Matthew 12:34-3916:4
Knowing that one is doomed to Hell if one does not acknowledge Jesus, one might be tempted to ask for proof that Jesus is truly the son of God. This was met by vitriol from Jesus.  Calling someone “evil and adulterous” and descended from vipers when they are seeking the truth is not a show of love. Where’s the love?

Jesus Does Not Love You…

Instead, he lies to you

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35
True or not True? So no Christian has died from starvation or lack of water? Not much more needs to be said.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Are Poor

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying,
To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor
When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me..
For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
Matthew 26:6-1 John 12:8
We thought Jesus was eternal yet he apparently prefers worldly goods for himself instead of helping the poor, since they will be with us always.
Why doesn’t he abolish poverty right then and there?By the way, Christians point to this incident to show Jesus’ love for women. Really!

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Are A Slave And Disobey Your Master

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripesLuke 12:47

Jesus Does Not Love You

If you are wise and prudent!

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Matthew 11:25
Jesus knows that only people with minds like babies can overlook the lack of truth in what he says. We will admit that it does take a non-thinking, trusting, simpleton,  child-like mind to believe any of this nonsense.
This is beyond anything that has come before or after. Incredibly, unbelievably,  Jesus even thanks God for NOT allowing some, “the wise and the prudent”, to understand and save themselves. Why does Jesus want the wise and the prudent to go to hell? Maybe he’s afraid that they will reveal the truth to the babe-like simpletons.

Jesus Does Not Love You …

in spite of the universal theme of the beatitudes and Matthew 5:1-48

The Beatitudes are drawn from familiar Old Testament material ( Proverbs 6:16-19, which lists seven things that the Lord hates) , once again relevant only to the Jews. Since his audience was Jews and Jews only, it is obvious that they were meant for Jews only.
Later in the 5th chapter of Matthew, we are admonished to mutilate ourselves (pluck out eyes, cut off hands) and we are condemned to hell for committing adultery in our mind.
It doesn’t matter. Jesus spoke out of both sides of his mouth. Here’s what he says in Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; one of his most familiar … “Love thine enemy”
Square “love your enemies” with his suggestions for people who lived in cities that refused to receive his disciples (just below).

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Lived In A  City That Refused to Receive His Disciples

Whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. Mark 6:11
But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not … it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! … And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. Luke 10:10-15
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words … It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Matthew 10:14-15
Instead of “turning the other cheek”, showing love and mercy by praying for the citizens of Chorazin, Bathsaida and Capernaum, Jesus condemns them and “whosoever shall not receive you” to dreadful deaths and to the eternal torment of hell.
Note that this non-loving picture of Jesus is presented in all three of the synoptic gospels, Mark, Luke and Matthew.  By the time John got around to writing his memoir, he understandably chose to omit this dirty little concept.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Live In A  City That Heard His Word but Repented Not

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:Matthew 11:20

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Worried About Food, Health, or Clothing like the unclean Pagens.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.”
:
”And why do you worry about clothes?… will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Now this may not initially, to the untrained eye, be evidence of Jesus’ lack of love for you but consider this. Jesus has told those who worry about staying fed and clothed that they needn’t worry about those things, that “all these things will be given to you”.  So Jesus makes a promise he knows will not be kept. We consider this to be evidence that Jesus doesn’t really love those to whom he makes false promises.
And again, Jesus insults the pagans (non-Jew) by using them as an example of bad behavior.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If you owned an ass and a colt (Matthew) or just a young ass (John) or a colt (Mark, Luke) and Jesus wanted it/them.

Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
That is, get out of here and steal the ass and the colt that Jesus knows to be in the next village.  Why the next village? Although Jesus knows everything including the fact that there will be a colt and an ass tied up in the next town, he doesn’t know if they will be caught so he provides a handy rational for the theft.
And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. Matthew 21:2-3
“Because The Lord hath need of them”.  Well OK then! That makes it OK to take what isn’t yours? Couldn’t that rationale “Because I hath need of it” be used for every robbery ever committed? How is the owner supposed to know who in the hell “The Lord” is?
“… and straightaway he will send them“.  Send them what? Back? How? He knew he was going to die. He knew he couldn’t send them back. Neither Luke nor John make any mention of “straightaway he will send them”.
BTW – Matthew puts Jesus in the ridiculous position of arriving  on an Ass AND a Colt. Mark and Luke say a colt, John says a young ass. Only Matthew has Jesus on two animals. Why? Because Matthew in his haste to show that this was all according to prophecy  “All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet,” Matt 21:4
What prophecy? Why the prophecy in Zechariah 9:9, of course. Matthew had Jesus riding on two donkeys at once since he misunderstood the form of Hebrew poetry used in Zechariah 9:9.
The bible is wrong about one of its most foundational moments. Can’t even be consistent on something as simple as the transportation vehicle.
And why does Jesus even need to be riding? He walked everywhere else didn’t he?

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If Your Ancestors Killed Prophets

Ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. … Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? … Upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Matthew 23:31-35
Jesus ignores your virtues and will have you punished for the transgressions of your ancestors.
Where’s the love?

Jesus Does Not Love You

If You Are Rich

19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If you don’t hate your family

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple
Luke 14.26
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” Matthew 10.35,36.
Opps… make that if you don’t KILL your family
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.”
Matthew 10.21.
This is the worst. We know Christians will spin this and say it’s not to be taken literally but then using the same logic, we say that Jesus’ resurrection is not to be taken literally. What criteria should be used to determine what is literal and what is not?

Jesus Does Not Love You …

If you are a woman

Conventional Christian dogma says that Jesus treated women with love and respect. The story of the Samaritan is often invoked to show that Jesus treated women well. A careful, unbiased reading reveals nothing of the sort. It starts with Jesus ordering the Samaritan women to give him a drink of water. A civil discourse follows but nothing that shows Jesus admiration of women in general. Indeed, his apostles reveal how Jesus truly felt about women with this little interchange that occurs in the story about the Samaritan.
Just then his disciples came.  They were astonished that he was speaking with a woman, but no one said, “What do you want?” or, “Why are you speaking with her?
Why were they astonished that he was speaking with a woman?  Because the fact that Jesus was speaking with a woman was an extraordinary event. That’s why!
This Christian tract  presents all the “evidence” that demonstrates Jesus’ love for woman. However, with careful, unbiased reading, one is hard pressed to find a citation that clearly shows Jesus unbounded, unconstrained appreciation of women.

Jesus Does Not Love You

If You Had the Plague or Unclean Spirits

Mark 3:6-3:13 Paraphrase:
Great multitudes from Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem, Idumaea, Jordan, Tyre and Sidon came unto him but Jesus told his disciples that a small ship should “wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him”.
“Lest they should throng him”? Can’t Jesus handle the throngs? Can’t he cure them en masse? Apparently not. Instead of a ship however, Jesus retreats up a mountain, straightly telling those who throng after him not to make him known.
Summary: Instead of healing those who are thronging after him, Jesus runs up a mountain and tells the throngers to shut up.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You Curse Your Parents

God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. Matthew 15:4
Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death. Mark 7:10
Jesus again acknowledges the Old Testament commandments and shows that he believes they are still  in effect.
Death to those who do not honor their parents. Jesus would have children honor their parents even if their parents molest them and sell them into sexual slavery.
And apparently that is all right because child molestation and rape and slavery and kidnapping leading to sexual slavery were not inveighed against in the 10 Commandments. Where’s the love?

IN SPITE OF THE 5TH COMMANDMENT…

Jesus Does Not Love You

If you have Not Forsaken Your Parents

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. – Matthew 19:29

Jesus Does Not Love You

If You Wish To Say Goodbye To Your Family

Another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”Luke 9:61-62:

Jesus Does Not Love You

If You Wish To Honor Your Father

Another of the disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”Matthew 8:21-22

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If you are his parents who found him after he was missing for three days

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought  thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s businessAnd they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.” – Luke 2.48,50.
This is honoring one’s parents? Imagine the anguish that a 12-year-old going missing for 3 days causes his parents. According to the Bible, Jesus went missing and his “sorrowful” parents searched for three days before eventually finding the boy at the Temple. Yet Jesus doesn’t apologize – he blames them for not knowing that he was doing his “real father’s” business!
How is it that his parents did not understand? Mary was a virgin impregnated by the Holy Spirit for God’s sake! Joesph received a notice that his child would be special. The author of this tract needs to get it together.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

EVEN IF YOU ARE HIS MOTHER!

Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! Matthew 12: 47-49Mark 3:31-34Luke 8:20-21
Jesus didn’t even acknowledge his own mother who wanted to speak to him, but instead totally ignores her and insults her by referring to his disciples as his mother. This damning passage is again attested to in three of the four synoptic gospels.Where’s the love?
Jesus acknowledges the commandment to honor thy mother and father, under penalty of death yet he shows complete disrespect for his mother; as we have seen. He certainly did not honor his mother, even when he knew she wanted to speak to him.
Here’s another example of Jesus’ disrespect for women in general and his mother in particular:
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.  Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.  When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”  And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come. John 2:1
He refers to his mother as “woman”! He challenges her simple observation with words of challenge and disrespect.  Should he not die the death for that? Where’s the love?

Jesus Does Not Love You if You are Not A Jew

Jesus Is A Jew Speaking to Jews Only

All the verses below allude to the Old Testament. Only Jews were aware of or cared about the contents of the Old Testament. Jesus knows that his audience will understand his allusions to the Old Testament because they are Jews too.
And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Matthew 19:28
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Matthew 10:34Luke 12:51-53
But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. … Remember Lot’s wife. Luke 17:29-32
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:37Luke 17:27
Everything he says said was directed to his Jewish audience. Jesus preached only to Jews and in fact, exhorted his apostles to go only into Jewish areas. Read the following without bias and you will see that everything he says is directed to and for his fellow Jews and is to apply only to them.
These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying,
Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Matthew 6:31-32
Jesus admonishes his disciples to avoid any non Jew (“Gentiles” in those days meant “anyone who wasn’t Jewish”) and heal only the lost sheep of the house of Israel; i.e. the Jews. He directs the twelve apostles to “heal the sick …” only for  the lost sheep of Israel. When he wants an example of bad behavior, he refers to the Gentiles.
Jesus may have preached that you should “Love thy neighbor as thyself”; but not if your neighbor happened to be a Samaritan or even worse, a gentile.  Only if thy neighbor was a Jew should you love him.

Here again, Jesus confirms that his Love is for Jews only

And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.
But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs
Mark 7:26-27Matthew 15:22-26
“Oh Lord, thou son of David” Another reference relevant only to Jews. We are under this constant barrage by the authors of the synoptic gospels to “prove” the genealogy of Jesus back to that mass murderer, David.
If Jesus is the savior of all mankind, why is it so important to tie him back to David? That is important only to Jews. How did this woman know that he was the son of David? Again, a story that illustrates how these synoptic gospels were directed to the Jewish community.
“Vexed with a devil”? She wanted Jesus to perform an exorcism. That’s just more nonsense.  There is no such thing as being “vexed with a devil”, but there was to the Jews. One more story made up from whole cloth that, when looked at with a dispassionate eye, proves Jesus doesn’t love you if you are not Jewish.
Now, the loving, merciful and just Jesus, apparently agreeing with his disciples who complain that this woman from Canaan is bothering them, first ignores the woman and then tells the women that he came only for the lost sheep of Israel and she is the equivalent of a dog! That’s an insult and a racial slur!
No man of universal love would utter words like that to a woman begging for her child’s life.  Only when she acknowledges her lowly position;  “even dogs can have the crumbs of their master” does Jesus reluctantly heal her child. Where’s the universal love of Jesus in this tale?

Paul Acknowledges that Jesus is for Jews Only

Galatians 4:4-5
But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
“To redeem them that were under the law”. And who was “under the law”? JEWS! Not you, you heathen infidel.

Jesus Does Not Love You…

If You refuse To Acknowledge Him

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.Luke 19:27
We know this particular passage is a “parable ” but what is the point of the parable? Jesus used parables to illustrate and drive home a point he wanted to make. This point is not a message of love. The point is certainly not one of turning the other cheek, of loving thy neighbor. The king in the parable doesn’t love his enemies. Where’s the love?

Another Perspective

Despite the above, Christians continue to believe that Jesus was a humanitarian. So why don’t Christians emulate what they THINK Jesus was like? For example,
Put it this way: Godless non-church-going Denmark mandates four weeks of maternity leave before childbirth and fourteen weeks afterward for mothers. Parents of newborn children are assisted with well-baby nurse-practitioner visits in their homes.
In the “pro-life” and allegedly “family friendly” American Bible belt, conservative Christian political leaders slash programs designed to help women and children while creating a justifying mythology about handouts versus empowerment.
In “God-fearing America” the poor are now the “takers,” no longer the “least of these,” and many conservative evangelicals side with today’s Pharisees, attacking the poor in the name of following the Bible.

Conclusion

Sure, there are phrases in John that appear to contradict some of the passages cited above. However, John is a Johnny-Come-Lately gospel that contradicts (see “Significant Doctrinal Differences Between John and the Synoptic Gospels“) most of what Matthew, Mark and Luke said about Jesus. The authors of John wrote at least 20  years after the the epistle of Mark was written. It is an apologetic to cover the shortcoming of Jesus that were revealed above.
Although Paul never quotes Jesus, his writings are relevant to this topic because it appears that John got much of his “teaching” from Paul; especially the salvation through faith concept. This in itself is additional proof of the central theme of this website; i.e. The Bible is So Wrong About So Much. Either the picture painted by Matthew, Mark and Luke is correct , or Paul and John are correct.  Most likely they are all wrong. The entirety of the New Testament is a set of selected writings (by the council of Nicea) that best market Jesus to the illiterate superstitious unwashed masses.
Think of the appeal of Christianity. Only one God: you don’t have to keep track of the demands of multiple Gods. You don’t have to sacrifice multiple animals to different Gods. You don’t have to have yourself mutilated (circumcision is mutilation). All you have to do is believe the story you are being told and you will have eternal life without doing anything – even if you have been bad.

Why should it be so difficult to understand the word of God?

Why are there a thousand religions that think they have the “correct” doctrine? Why are there so many different sects of Christianity?  If God/Jesus truly loved you, he would not give you mixed messages. Why doesn’t he let you know about your misunderstandings? He would stop the in-fighting over interpretation instantly. The “word” of God should be clear for all mankind for all eternity.
