In
Islam Jesus Pbuh is not God, nor is he portrayed as a God as some Christian
apologist claim such as David wood.
It
only takes a few verses from the Quran to refute their error claims. They claim
Jesus Pbuh was God because he was the Word of God? Correction!
Jesus
Pbuh was "A Word from Allah" who was created. Unlike the Word of God
which is not created.
45. Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee
glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of
Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of)
those nearest to Allah. 46. "He shall speak to the people in
childhood and in maturity. And he shall be (of the company) of the
righteous." 47. She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a
son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth
what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it
is! 48. "And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law
and the Gospel, (Surah 3:45-48)
Here we read from the Quran, Mary Pbuh is given the glad tidings
of Jesus Pbuh. When Mary Pbuh responded by saying how can she have a child when
no man has touched her, the reply was
" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth:
When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is!"
The key words to take attention on is "Allah createth what He
willeth" here we can confirm Jesus Pbuh was created.
Christians also claim that Jesus Pbuh breathed into a bird made
from clay and gave it life. As well as giving life to the dead and healing
people. Either they are blind or they intentionally ignore what the rest of the
verse says trying to conceal it from the people.
49. "And
(appoint him) an apostle to the Children of Israel, (with this message):
"'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you
out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes
a bird by Allah.s leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I
quicken the dead, by Allah.s leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what
ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe;
(Surah 3:49)
Why
don’t Christians complete the whole saying where it says "by Allah.s
leave" all the miracles performed by Jesus was by Allah.s leave, with
Allah's permission.
We
futher read from Surah Al-Anbiya
21. Or have they taken (for worship) gods from the earth who can
raise (the dead)?
22. If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods
besides Allah, there would have been confusion in both! but glory to Allah, the
Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above what they attribute to Him!23. He
cannot be questioned for His acts, but they will be questioned (for theirs).
(Surah 21:221-23)
It is only Allah who can raise the dead and none can question
Allah, rather it Allah who will question everyone.
We also read from Surah Al-Baqarah (Ayatul-al- Kursi)
255. Allah.
There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber
can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is
there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what
(appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they
compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend
over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and
preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory). (Surah 2:255)
We
read from the above glorious verse that without Allah Swt permission one cannot
even intercede. And all things belong to Allah Swt heavens and earth,
everything.
The
next verse will be sufficient to destroy such claim made by Christians that
Jesus Pbuh is God.
17. In
blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say:
"Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy
Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every - one that is on the earth?
For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that
is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all
things." (Surah 5:17)
This
verse annihilates all those claims Christian apologist. Here Allah Swt is dismissing
that Jesus Pbuh is God. Not only that Allah is telling us who could stop him if
he were to destroy the Christ and his mother and everyone.
"Who
then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the
son of Mary, his mother, and all every - one that is on the earth?"
If
Jesus was God, why would be say he could destroy himself? Why would God would
want to speak of destroying himself? Also,
If he was the son of God, why would God Almighty challenge people on who could
stop him from destroying his own son? The verse ends by saying " He
createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things." here we
can confirm once again Jesus Pbuh was created by Allah Swt, and Allah Swt has
power over all things.
