Did Jesus lie to the Jews?

The Jews were unware that Elijah came, how could this be? According the uninspired gospels, Jesus of the Bible claimed that Elijah came and went and none of the Jews recognised him? How absurd!

But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands". Then the disciples realized he was talking about John the Baptist. (Matthew 17:12-13)

The above saying creates couple of problem. Firstly if the Jews really didn’t recognize Elijah, the Elijah himself must be blamed for not disclosing who he was. Think about it, would a Prophet who had already been on earth among the Jews will hide himself when he returns the second time? Why didn’t the Jews of old make mention of this? And what exactly did they do to this person when they didn’t even know who he is "but have done to him everything they wished"?

Second problem with this is, Jesus was referring to John the Baptist as Elijah. If John the Baptist is Elijah then this would mean Elijah reincarnated, which is a pagan ideology strictly against the belief of Judaism. Suppose Jesus of the Bible even believed in such pagan ideas, why didn’t John the Baptist speak up to the Jews he was Baptising telling them he really was Elijah reincarnated?

The ultimate question is did John the Baptist even believe he was Elijah reincarnated, as Jesus of the Bible did? and the answer is no!

It's amazing how the gospels expose the very man they are trying to prove is was god in flesh. There is a interesting narration, where the Jews question John the Baptist asking him who is really was.

"Well then, who are you?" they asked. "Are you Elijah?" "No," he replied. "Are you the Prophet we are expecting?" "No." (John 1:21)

Here we read, John the Baptist blatantly denied he was Elijah in any shape or form. You can't get more explicit then that. John the Baptist had no reason to lie, and why should he lie he was a man of God. How then would Jesus refer to John the Baptist as  Elijah? This is certain a major blunder and huge embarrassment.

Did John the Baptist even believe Jesus was the Messiah? And the answer is no.

I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One. (John 1:34)

John the Baptist is certain Jesus is the Messiah the chosen one, but was he really? Let's find out.

Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?" (Matthew 11:2-3)

The disciples of John reported all these things to him. And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying, “Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”( Luke 7:18-19)

Wait a tick John the Baptist wasn't sure if Jesus was the chosen one? Why then would John the author say he knew him from  the beginning?  One wonders, If John the Baptist wasn't sure who Jesus was or what he came for, HOW SURE ARE CHRISTIANS?
Can you imagine John the Baptist doubted if Jesus was the chosen one and needed clarification? John the Baptist whom Jesus said no man born of a woman is greater than him (Matthew 11:11), (Luke 7:28).

Why did Jesus of the Bible lies to the Jews about Elijah? And if he was speaking the truth, why did John the Baptist not support him?

--------------------------

According to the Jews Elijah will return. Jesus also said Elijah will come first, yet immediately he after Jesus said Elijah has already come?

The disciples asked him, "Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?"

Jesus replied, “Elijah is indeed coming first to get everything ready.

But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands."

Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist. (Matthew 17:10-13)

John the Baptist himself confessed he was not Elijah.

“Well then, who are you?” they asked. “Are you Elijah?” “No,” he replied. “Are you the Prophet we are expecting?” “No.” (John 1:21)

Who speaks the truth? If John the Baptist was a great man as Jesus claimed then why did he lie he wasn't Elijah if he was?

Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. (Matthew 11:11)

Theres defiantly something fishy about all this, some is lying the question is who? Either Jesus lied by saying John the Baptist was Elijah or John the Baptist lied he wasn't Elijah when he was, or he spoke the truth saying he wasn't Elijah making Jesus the liar
